In the scope of its support to the advancement of the financial framework for civil society development that encompasses provision of policy analysis and recommendations based on EU best practice, capacity building and exchange of experiences with counterparts in the Western Balkans region and the EU Member States, the TA Project has jointly with the General Secretariat, Unit for Cooperation with CSOs organised a workshop for the members of the Working Group for the Reform of the System of the State funding for Civil Society Organisations.
Following the introductory remarks by Ms. Suzana Nikodijevic, Head of the Working Group and Ms. Irena Ivanova, EUD Program Manager which emphasised the importance of the legal, institutional and financial framework for civil society development and cooperation between the Government and CSOs, the “Report on financial support of CSOs by the Government, state administration bodies and local self-government units in 2021” was presented by Elpida Samardzioska from the Unit for Cooperation with CSOs.
The TA Project expert Igor Vidacak presented the analysis of the results of the questionnaires that was followed by discussion on key findings and main proposed options for the institutional set up for State funding of CSOs. The roadmap of activities including consultations with stakeholders, sequencing of next steps and coordination with other Working Groups active in the area of the enabling environment for civil society development will be developed with the support of the TA Project experts.
